Inspired by an aerial view of Maui and created after a recent travel to Tibet, "Coastline" could also have been entitled "Mountains on my mind..."

I used brocades in the forefront and painted with mineral pigments on silk in the background to offer a satisfying interplay of textures and contrasts.
