BIRDS IN COLLECTION

These paintings are a selection and are now in private collections worldwide.

The colours are natural pigments used before aniline dyes took the market in the 1860’s.

Terris has used them since the 1960’s.

The silks used are from China, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This was a natural progression from Tibetan art where the natural environment is prevalent.

“In 1976 HH the 16th Karmapa suggested that I also paint birds, he was a bird lover and visiting Maui teachings at the time”.
